Chitra Sahayak — Powered by Humica AI

Her craft is worth more than the world has paid for it.

Chitra Sahayak is a voice-first AI being built to help rural artisans across India brand their craft in their own language, and reach the premium and export buyers who pay what it’s truly worth.

● Concept stage · in active development from Assam

A weaver's hands working coloured threads on a traditional handloom

The problem

The skill is here. The opportunity isn’t.

In Sualkuchi, Assam, a weaver may sell a Muga silk saree for a fraction of what the same saree can command in a city boutique or an export market, but she rarely meets that buyer. She may not speak his language, can’t afford a branding agency, and has no path onto premium shelves. India has millions of master artisans; what’s missing isn’t talent, it’s access, branding, and the right buyer.

Access

She rarely meets the city-boutique or export buyer who would pay far more.

Branding

She can’t afford a branding agency, and has no path onto premium shelves.

The right buyer

India has millions of master artisans; what’s missing isn’t talent, it’s access, branding, and the right buyer.

The solution

An AI that speaks her language, and does the hard part.

Chitra Sahayak is being built as a voice-first assistant on Bhashini, India’s national language-AI platform, so it can understand and speak across India’s 22 official languages. An artisan simply speaks in her own language and is guided to photograph her product (with help from a nearby Common Service Centre). The AI will then craft a professional listing, a branded catalogue, and a packaging design, the work that normally needs an expensive agency.

How it works

How it will work

  1. Speak

The artisan talks to the assistant in her own language. No literacy or app skills needed.

  2. Capture

She photographs her product, with help from a nearby CSC if needed.

  3. Brand

The AI builds a polished listing, catalogue, and packaging design.

  4. Reach the buyer

We line up premium and export buyers first, then match the branded product to real demand.

The model

Buyer-first, so the work actually sells.

Most platforms list a product and hope. We’re designing Chitra Sahayak the other way around: secure the buyer first, then help the artisan brand and produce for real demand. And the artisan never pays. The model is built to be funded by institutions (state handloom bodies, CSR programmes) and a fee on the buyer side, so income flows to the maker, not a middleman. Built on India’s own public AI rails (Bhashini), keeping it affordable and Atmanirbhar.

Proof of builder

An idea from someone who has already shipped.

Chitra Sahayak is early, but the founder isn’t starting from zero. Through Humica AI (a registered MSME), he has already designed, built, and sold GymOS, a B2B SaaS, to paying businesses he supports today. The same hands will build this.

Founder

Built from the Northeast, for the people it overlooks.

I’m Khanjan Jyoti Sandilya, 20, a self-taught founder and designer from Guwahati, Assam. I build for the region, and the artisans, that opportunity usually skips. I carried this idea to the final round of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, where it featured in a presentation shown to the Prime Minister. I don’t want to be the hero of this story. I want our artisans to be, and I have the design skill, the AI, and the resolve to make that happen.

Roadmap

Where this is going

  1. Now

Concept, design, and founder validation. Talking to artisans, cooperatives, and potential buyers in Assam.

  2. Next

A focused pilot with one silk cluster, to prove one weaver can reach one premium buyer at a better price.

  3. Later

Expand across crafts, districts (ODOP), and languages; add a full vernacular interface.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is Chitra Sahayak live yet?

No, it’s at concept stage and in active development. This page shares the vision and lets you follow along.

How is this different from free AI tools?

The hard part isn’t generating a caption; it’s reaching a non-literate artisan in her language, doing brand-safe work, and connecting her to a real buyer. That’s what we’re building.

Who pays?

Not the artisan. The model is designed around institutional/CSR funding and a buyer-side fee.

Why start with Assam silk?

It’s a world-class craft the founder knows first-hand, with a clear gap between local and premium pricing.

Who is behind it?

Khanjan Jyoti Sandilya, via Humica AI (a registered MSME that already shipped GymOS).

How can I help?

Use the form above. Buyers, cooperatives, and mentors are especially welcome.
